Our Commitment to the Environment

As part of Hannaford’s commitment to sustainability, reduce waste, and protect our environment, Hannaford offers paper and reusable bags at a fee. This change is part of an overall shift at Hannaford to eliminate single-use plastic bags across all operations.

State and Local Ordinances

Hannaford may charge bag fees based on state and local laws. This depends on where your order is shopped, picked up or delivered. The number of bags used will be calculated at the time the order is packed. The bag fee will be based on the number of bags used, our associates have been trained to minimize the number of bags to keep this fee as low as possible. The fee will be on your final receipt.

Non-Regulatory Bag Fee May Apply

If there is not a state or local ordinance requiring a bag fee, a 10¢ taxable charge per bag used may be added to your Pickup or Delivery order. If there is a state or local ordinance required fee less than 10¢, an additional bag fee per bag may be added to the total up to 10¢ per bag. The additional per bag fee is taxable. The bag fee will be based on the number of bags used, our associates have been trained to minimize the number of bags to keep this fee as low as possible. The fee will be on your final receipt.
